Martha wasn’t your typical grandma. While other grandmas baked cookies and knitted sweaters, Martha had her own motto:
“Why bake cookies when you can bake the whole mood?”
One sunny afternoon, she put on her bold blue glasses, a bow in her hair, and her brightest lipstick. Then she lit a cigarette—not because she liked smoking (she barely puffed), but because it made her look like the star of an old Hollywood movie.
Her neighbour spotted her and asked,
“Don’t you think you’re a little old for that look, Martha?”
With a sly smile, Martha tilted her head and replied,
“Darling, you don’t stop being fabulous because you get old. You get old because you stop being fabulous.”
The neighbor stood there speechless, while Martha walked away slowly—pearls shining, glasses slightly crooked, leaving behind nothing but confidence and a faint scent of sass.
Because sometimes, the real spark isn’t in the cigarette… it’s in the attitude.
